Apparently quite a few people are having problems posting comments – I don’t know if that’s just for my blog, or for Blogger in general. If you’ve had trouble, would you mind letting me know at simondavidthomas[at]yahoo.co.uk, just so I know the scale of the issue! And if there are any comments you’d like to make, and can’t, I’ll post them on your behalf :)

I think it's a blogger-wide issue, as I've recently received a few e-mails from people who are having the same issue at my blog : I really hope they fix it soon.
Thanks! Annoying, but at least I don't have to try and fix it… Blogger do go through these patches all too often!
Hi Si
the only problem I have is that the word for the word verification doesn't always appear.
I support Nymeth's theory. I've heard of problems on another Blogger-based site.
An alternate theory is that it's realted to the individual's browser and perhaps they need to clear their cache, history, and/or cookies?
I haven't experienced the problem myself.
I've noticed a few comments about not being able to leave comments, but I'm signing in with WordPress and no problems.
I was actually wondering if there was a problem the other way, because you took me by surrprise leaving a comment from a wordpress account a day or two ago.
As OV says, for me the verification word almost never appears until I publish, when of course it complains and correctly refreshes so that I can see the next autogenerated word. Other than that it's been faultless (like the prose).
I think this might just be a problem for those that do not use Google Chrome? It is nothing to do with blogger!
As with OV, the word verification doesn't always appear – in fact, it never appears for me. But I figured out that if I just clicked on "Publish" anyway – I'm alerted then that I did not do the word verification and a 'new' one is there for my use. It just makes it a two-step process.
I see now that the mssg. I get is:
"The characters you entered didn't match the word verification. Please try again."
Try ctrl F5 if you're using a pc and can't see the verification word. It may help in some cases. It seems to force a refresh when any website isn't playing. (My technical advisor isn't at hand to explain in more detail…)
As "LindyLouMac in Italy" suggests, the problem disappears in other browsers. I'm testing with Chrome 15.0.874.121 and the verification word is clearly displayed.
