ehonyaku, I don’t remember you posting before – would love to know which books you’ve bought from seeing them here, and what you thought of them!?

I’m still awaiting the arrival of most by post, but ordered “Miss Hargreaves” despite the expense (your laudatory review must have sent the price of all the used copies out there on Amazon and eBay!), as well as “Watching the English,” “Speaking of Love”, “The Piano Shop” and Katherine Mansfield’s “The Garden Party,” which I think you mentioned somewhere. I’ve read most of your other top 50 (14 now) except for the Milne autobiography and “Lady Into Fox”–sounds a bit strange. I don’t know how I’ve missed Katherine Mansfield since high school English textbooks, but I read “At the Bay” today and found it luminous and vivid. All in all, I’m having a hard time getting any work done! I love Trollope and George Eliot, but am mixing it up with more modern-day stuff now. I’m a newcomer to your blog, and am enjoying it thoroughly. Thank you for your efforts! –Erika
Just testing as Google seem to have blackballed me recently, and I wanted to post my appreciation.I enjoy your tales of Oxford, don’t feel they are not ‘real blogs’.
Hurrah, I’m through…what a process.
